Normalized shear modulus and material damping models for transitional silts with application to the Pacific Northwest

This webinar will discuss CLiP-funded efforts to assemble a database of torsional shear and cyclic direct simple shear specimens of transitional silts to develop new models for shear modulus nonlinearity and reduction curves and damping curves for use in ground response analysis. The models produce greater linearity in shear stiffness and smaller energy dissipation than state-of-practice models for silts with implication for ground motion amplification studies.
